Your local bank should offer merchant credit card processing. If you're a member at Costco, they have good deals on merchant credit card accounts. They currently advertise 1.64% plus $0.20 per transaction. That is really good, but you will need to purchase the equipment which could run up to $500, so be sure to figure in all factors when comparing plans.
As you're shopping, let them know that you'll be accepting cards in craft shows – they may have helpful tips for the portability of your business. There's a company called ProPay where you can set up a merchant account and process credit card payments online rather than pruchasing equipment. If you have access to wireless internet during the craft show, this could be an option for you. References : http://www.propay.com

you have to have a merchant account in order to accept credit cards. Try going to a local bank and applying for a merchant account.
